ONE NATION UNDER GOD!
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Why can’t we recite this in every American school?
I believe the Pledge of Allegiance is very important in schools, it teaches Pride and Loyalty to America, and they won’t allow it because it says, One Nation Under God! It was written that way and should remain that way, it should be recited every morning with the hand over the heart, facing the American Flag.
Regardless of religion, this is a patriotic thing to do. And our schools definitely need to teach patriotism!
This is America, One Nation Under God!
If you live in America and claim to be American, you should Honor the Pledge of Allegiance. If we do not teach respect for such things, how can we expect the future generation to know what Pride, Honour, and Respect mean?
God has been implemented over and over in our country since it was founded. It’s in our Pledge of Allegiance, Our oath of office or true testimony, Our currency, and most importantly Our Constitution. I’m sure I left out several, but, that has always been an American tradition, in God We Trust. It was in every school and every classroom, till bleeding heart liberals decided it was inappropriate. We should have Never let them win that battle, but We Must Win this war! If you don’t like America’s customs and tradition, don’t come here and expect to change it because it hurts someone’s feelings. God Blessed America!
No, the constitution does not mention the word God, At the time of its writing, reasonable people accepted the role of religion in a society instead of demonizing it as something that might diminish our nation’s liberty.
Quite the opposite is true. The founders went out of their way to convey this message to posterity, but sadly the “enlightened” academics of our time choose to apply the meaning of separation of church and state to their own desires to mean the isolation of church from the state, of which all the collectives must be members.
Amendment I. Of the United States Constitution.
Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Please show me where the “separation of church and state “, is in the supreme law of the land.
If you read the constitution it says nothing about the separation of church and state. It says the government will not establish a religion (like the British government did). The left’s interpretation that we have today is simply to take God out of our country. If we take God out of America, who is happier than the devil himself?
“Our constitution is designed for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.” -John Adams
I think this guy knew a thing or two about the meaning of the Constitution.
Keeping church and state separate, Legally, does not mean we must keep people separated from their religion, physically and in spirit, while participating in a state activity, working for the state, or serving the state. The provision was primarily designed to protect less common religions from governmental control and to protect other religions from not being the official religion of the state. Nowhere. NOWHERE AT ALL…does the constitution or the writings of the founders imply, or decree that the citizenry ought to be protected from religion.
“I believe in one God, the creator of the universe. That he governs it by his providence. That he ought to be worshiped. That the most acceptable service we render to him is in doing good to his other children. That the soul of a man is immortal and will be treated with justice in another life, respecting the conduct of a man in this.” -Ben Franklin
I think this guy knew a bit about the intent of the founders when writing the Constitution.
In the year of our Lord 1787
All of the signers of the constitution of the United States of America signed under that statement. (Click link to read the Constitution).
Certainly, Benjamin Franklin was not a Trinitarian, nor a member of such a church. Yet after weeks of wheel-spinning at the convention, on June 28, 1787, Dr. Franklin delivered a speech, asking them how it is that they had forgotten to seek God’s help.
He said, “In the beginning of the contest with Great Britain when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending Providence in our favor.”
He went on to say, “I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth — that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?”
Christianity wasn’t something that was forced down citizens throats. It did not mean if you were not Christian you could not be American. But it did not victimize citizens that were Christian.
Our Precious Patriotic Treasures, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, Constitution, were founded with deep-rooted Christian values, because,
Our country was founded by God-fearing patriots. Men and Women who risked everything for freedom and independence, the Patriotic Americans who taught us to love our country and defend her always!
They also valued tolerance. They knew for Christians, the relationship between God and man is a personal thing. Nevertheless, they wrote and/or adopted the America Treasure’s that every Patriotic American loves. These Treasure’s should never be changed or infringed upon. And Every American should be Proud to be an American!
Affiliated with any religion or not, anyone with half a brain, after reading our founding father’s words, should realize they prayed to God for guidance.
Turn your back on God and he will surely turn his from you! God Bless America.
The bleeding heart liberals, now are on a rampage over Betsy DeVos the new secretary of education.
Elisabeth “Betsy” DeVos is a proven leader, an innovator, a disruptor and an advocate. In education, in business and in politics, Betsy has been a pioneer in fighting to remove barriers, to enact change and to create environments where people have the opportunity to thrive.
Betsy DeVos is the former Chairman of The Windquest Group, a privately held investment and management firm based in Michigan with a diversified consumer product and service portfolio.
Active in politics for more than 35 years, Betsy was elected chairman of the Michigan Republican Party four times, and she has served in numerous leadership roles with campaigns, party organizations, and political action committees. Today, her political efforts are focused on advancing educational choices.
Betsy is a pioneer in fighting to remove barriers, enact change and create environments where people have the opportunity to thrive.
Betsy is also active in her community. She is the former chair of both the American Federation for Children and The Philanthropy Roundtable board of directors and served on a number of other national and local boards including ArtPrize, American Enterprise Institute, Foundation for Excellence in Education, and the DeVos Institute for Arts Management at the University of Maryland.
A graduate of Holland Christian High School, Betsy received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Betsy is married to entrepreneur, philanthropist and community activist Dick DeVos, and together, they have four children and five grandchildren.
So with this résumé why is she opposed by liberals?
Because they are scared to death that things like the Pledge of Allegiances may be placed back in schools, exactly where it belongs.
