Trump Contends Faith In God, is Key To Reuniting the Country, and Restoring Greatness!
Donald Trump received a standing ovation coming and going at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C..
The theme of Trump’s speech was that, centrality faith must play if America is to reclaim its heritage of greatness.
Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight introduced the candidate saying, “If God allows truth to be said and heard, we will see Donald Trump as the next president of the United States of America. He will lift the dark cloud that hovers over us now.”
“Our media culture often mocks and demeans people of faith,” Trump observed. “Our values of love, charity and faith built this nation.”
He promised, “In a Trump administration, our Christian heritage will be respected like never before. That includes religious liberty.”
Trump stated that faith in God has “the power to heal, the power to unite, the power to make all of us live better lives.”
“Our faith in God will lead us back to unity,” he believes. Trump dignity respect honesty, the love of God and country, make Trump more than qualified to be our President.
A pledge that the GOP nominee made that particularly appealed to the Values Voter crowd, was to repeal the so-called Johnson Amendment, which threatens churches and religious organizations, with the loss of their tax exempt status if, they take positions regarding political candidates.
Trump promised repealing the Johnson Amendment, which was passed in the 1950s, would be easy.
Another issue that really resonated with the summit attendees was his commitment to support school choice.
“As your president, I will be the biggest cheerleader for school choice you’ve ever seen,” the candidate stated.
“School choice also means parents can home-school their children,” he said, which generated resounding applause.
Trump sees school choice as central to his new civil rights agenda, which he has proposed to help lift minorities out of poverty.
He said, school choice is clearly the right thing to do, and there is one reason Hillary Clinton opposes it: “She is controlled like a puppet by special interests.”
Trump also addressed the future of the United States Supreme Court, noting that the next president will not only be replacing the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s seat, but as many as four others.
He contended if, “You pick the wrong people [for the high court] you won’t recognize your country.”
The candidate argued the stakes could not be higher: “It will determine whether we remain a constitutional republic.”
Donald Trump brought his personal copy of the Bible, complete with his own mother’s handwriting inside the cover and the address of his boyhood home, to the Values Voter Summit, in an attempt to sway religious voters while he looks to shore up his sizable support among conservatives.
“I brought my Bible. You know, it’s the First Presbyterian Church, Jamaica (Queens) and this was written by my mother, with my name, with my address, with everything,” he said as he held up his Bible and opened it for the crowd. “I saw this and I had to bring it.”
Trump also launched into a defense of Christmas to the crowd.
“The word ‘Christmas’, I love Christmas. I love Christmas. You go to stores now, you don’t see the word ‘Christmas.’ It says ‘Happy Holidays’ all over,” Trump said to applause. “Remember the expression, ‘Merry Christmas?’ You don’t see it anymore. You’re going to see it if I get elected, I can tell you right now.”
Donald Trump hammered Hillary Clinton in the stern speech, saying that his rival is operating a ‘criminal enterprise’ and has ‘unleashed ISIS’ on the world.
“She put the country, and I mean the entire country, at risk to cover up her pay-for-play scandals as secretary of State,” Trump said. Trump dignity respect honesty, every time.
“These include scandals of giving uranium to Russia, doing favors for UBS bank, and selling contracts to friends and family in Haiti. It’s all about hiding criminal enterprise.”
Problem is, It is called electoral votes, not popular votes, that choose the president.
If the popular vote is overpowering for Trump, but the electoral vote is not, then there will be scandal.
The electoral college will be performing other than the will of the American people, and in despite of their clear choice. There must be accountability for this!
I can’t WAIT for the debates! Trump is going to crush Hillary, and destroy her. Its gonna be brutal, like having a battle of wits with an unarmed person.
I hope Trump doesn’t hold back anything in the debates with Hillary. Like Romney did with Obama, that was a joke or set up. He can destroy her if he will.
Trump closed, reiterating that he believes the key to uniting a divided America is a renewal of faith, which recognizes that we are all God’s children, made in His image.
Trump ended the powerful speech with, “Together we will make America believe again, we will make America united again, and we will make America great again.”
To restore our great country is at stake, and the stakes are the highest they been in decades. We must, MUST elect Donald J Trump, to begin this restoration.
