Stealing our Children

They are Stealing our Children by making them Historically Illiterate

by John Gilbert, contributing writer Trumpville Repost

That you are historically illiterate is not your fault. This has been carefully designed by the enemies of our country. They hate our lifestyles and most of all our freedoms. They have infiltrated our government, our schools and our churches with their godless rhetoric and replaced sound doctrine with political correctness. They’ve made it sound so appealing that we dare not accept it.

I shall attempt in just a few paragraphs to restore a few of the main points of our history to their proper place in our modern perspective. I do this in the hope that our young people, especially our brainwashed college students, can discern for themselves a true timeline of the events that lead up to the founding of this country. Using our tax dollars Elites are stealing our children.

Why we celebrate Columbus Day

While this continent had many visitors over the millennia, it was only made known to the world after a voyage of discovery was made by Christopher Columbus in 1492. Columbus was looking for a water route to India. Instead, he found a bloodthirsty people who would kill a European as quickly as they would kill their own kind. (The prevailing wisdom is that Columbus brought slaves to the Americas but they forget that Columbus was an explorer, not a slave trader. I will not touch on slavery or the ills of that institution that are even worse today than it has ever been.) Columbus died never knowing that he’d discovered a new continent. This is why we celebrate Columbus Day.

Why we celebrate Thanksgiving

Each country in Europe had an established religion. It was illegal to practice outside that faith. Many were imprisoned, tortured, or burned at the stake for not following the official religion. The “New World” had no established religion. It was also illegal to leave the country but if the “Separatist” could find a way out of the country and book passage on a ship bound for the Americas, they could worship as they please. This was a very dangerous proposition as you could be betrayed and turned in for a reward. You would then be punished. It took some people many years to leave Europe. Modern textbooks tell us that the people came here for the economy. Such is false. There was no economy Only forest and savages. One had to hack a living out of the wilderness and hope he could raise enough food to make it through the winter. But the upside was that he and his fellow believers could worship without fear of reprisal from the government. This is why we celebrate Thanksgiving. Stealing our children to turn them into the useless liberal garbage.

Why we celebrate July 4th

Many colonies failed but some settlements grew into towns. England established 13 colonies along the Eastern Seaboard and trading between the colonies and England was profitable. England began to tax the Americans to pay for its wars. Everything was taxed. The Church of England was now the established religion. One could go to the church of his choice but the law required a person to attend the Church of England at least one Sunday in the month. Non-attendance would bring a fine or land you in the stockade. By the mid-1700’s there was much talk of secession from England. On July 4th, 1776, 56 delegates from the 13 colonies signed a Declaration of Independence from England. These 56 men knew that they were now wanted, men. They were hunted down by the British and several were killed. Others lost all of their property and saw family members die. All had a price on their heads. King George III sent his army to put down the rebellion. Oddly enough, a rag-tag group of American militia beat the greatest military machine of its day. Miracles at the right time gave the Americans the advantage over their adversaries. This is why we celebrate July 4th.

Why we celebrate September 17 as Constitution Day

The new country needed a set of laws to operate under. In 1789 a Constitutional Congress was called to establish a constitution for the new nation. The members could not agree on what kind of constitution to write. The members searched the constitutions of history but nothing fit the new nation. Debates became heated nearly erupting into fist fights! At the height of all the confusion, Benjamin Franklin asked to be recognized. He reminded them they had made only small progress after 4 or 5 weeks. He reminded that they had met there often during the war with Great Britain and never did they begin a meeting that they did not offer prayer. “I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?” After Mr. Franklin’s address, the meeting was adjourned. The Reverend James Campbell was called in to offer prayer. From that moment and all hostilities ceased and our wonderful Constitution began to take shape. In a short time, these men wrote a constitution like the world had never seen. It offered freedoms never imagined by all the generations from the beginning of time. It offered freedom of speech without fear of government reprisal. It offered no established religion. Everyone was free to worship as he pleased and prohibited Congress or anyone else from taking away the free exercise thereof. It offered freedom of the press and the right to bear arms. Never did a people throughout history have such freedoms. This is why those who live under an oppressive government hate us so badly. They say misery loves some company and they are miserable. They desire us to be as miserable as they are. Our Founders said that these rights came from God, not man. This is why we celebrate September 17 as Constitution Day.

What happened in 1776

This is only a brief summary of the events that brought us to where we are. I love this country and our Constitution. There is an all out attack on our Constitution. Why? Maybe it’s because it was started with a prayer. I love the story that took place long ago. A little boy wasn’t paying attention in class. The teacher called to him and asked what happened in 1776. The boy puzzled for a moment and twisted up his face searching for an answer. Suddenly his eyes lit up and he shouted at the top of his voice; “Ole George Washington whooped the king, the eagle cried ‘Let freedom Ring!”

Now they are stealing our children. The Teachers Union is full if Liberal teachers. They have installed “common core” and thrown out God and Patriotism. Mr. Trump will promote school choice and leave curriculum to the local authorities.
